Solar Project Ford Completes Q4 Gas Phase Begins

In November 2020, Ford Motor Company embarked on a pioneering solar energy project for its Silverton Assembly Plant in Pretoria.

The Project Blue Oval renewable energy programme forms part of Ford’s vision to have the Silverton Assembly Plant entirely green and energy self-sufficient by 2024.

Building one of the largest solar carport developments in the world is a remarkable feat, and we are proud to be part of this project.

We were recently featured in an article by Engineering News that covers Phase 2 of Project Blue Oval. Phase 2 will see the introduction of biomass as a source of renewable energy, and the outsourced farming of fermentable biomass plants in rural areas.
